JOSEPH FAWBUSH Funeral Service Licensee

Joe Fawbush is a lifelong resident of Norton and a 1981 graduate of J. I. Burton High School. Joe earned his mortuary science degree in 1985 from John A. Gupton College in Nashville, Tn. He began his apprenticeship at the funeral home in 1985 and became a funeral service licensee in 1987. In 2000 Joe and Marty became partners in the funeral home.

Joe currently serves as President of the Southwest Virginia Funeral Directors Association, Mayor of the City of Norton, member of the Lions Club of Norton and serves on several boards and commissions in Southwest Virginia.

Joe resides in Norton with his wife Christy.

CHRISTY FAWBUSH Office Manager

Christy is a Dickenson County native and a 1989 graduate of Clintwood High School. Christy joined the funeral home in 2021 and is responsible for the day to day office operations.

Christy is a member of the Lions Club of Norton.

Christy resides in Norton with her husband Joe.

TYLER HARTSOCK Funeral Service Intern

Lifelong resident of Wise County, Virginia. A 2011 Graduate of John I. Burton High School. Tyler is serving as a Funeral Service Intern and plans on attending a Mortuary Science School. Tyler loves to serve people and hopes to continue his career here at the funeral home.

MARTY HAGY Funeral Service Licensee

Paul Martin “Marty” Hagy is a second-generation funeral director. Marty began his career at Hagy Funeral Home in 1975. Marty retired from Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in August 2021 but is keeping his Funeral Service License current and works from time to time at the funeral home. From his early childhood he has grown up in a funeral service family.  Marty is a 1969 graduate of John I. Burton High School and graduate of East Tennessee State University.  He earned his mortuary service degree from John A. Gupton College in Nashville, TN, and joined the firm in 1975, remaining there ever since. He and his wife, Mary, are both lifelong residents of Norton.

The First Baptist Church of Norton is his church home.
