Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home has been serving Norton area families for years. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to be a part of it for many years to come.

Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home celebrated 100 years of service in 2016!

Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home is the successor of the longest serving funeral establishment in Wise County. The original proprietor, Fred H. King, established King Funeral Service in 1916. Mr. King served families in Wise, Lee, Scott and Dickenson counties. Worley Minor, Kenneth Minor, Bill O’Dell, Roy Green and Bill Holding were a few of the men that worked and trained under Fred H. King.

In 1953 the establishment changed ownership and operated as Baker Funeral Home.

In 1954 the funeral home was purchased by Frank Horsman. Harold Hagy and Kenneth Minor served as Licensed Funeral Directors. The establishment operated under the name of Minor and Hagy Funeral Home and continued to train others in the funeral service field.

In 1964 Harold Hagy purchased the establishment and operated it as Hagy Funeral Home, Inc. Bill Gibson served as Funeral Director and Embalmer along with Mr. Hagy.

Martin Hagy joined the funeral home in 1975 as a Funeral Service Licensee.

Joseph Fawbush joined the funeral home in 1985 and was later became a Funeral Service Licensee in 1987.

Joseph Fawbush became a Partner in the Funeral Home in 2000. In 2001 the funeral home expanded the building and added a new modern chapel with seating of 200 people.

In August 2021 Martin Hagy retired and sold his ownership in the funeral home to Joseph Fawbush. Joe now owns and operates the funeral home and serves as the Funeral Service Licensee.

Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home continues it’s dedication to public service.
